Meet Suzette

Step into the comforting space of Suzette Gordon's therapy practice, where compassion and understanding meet over three decades of experience. With a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Suzette's journey has been defined by her commitment to guiding individuals toward mental well-being. Through her cognitive-behavioral psychotherapeutic approach, she offers a safe haven for

The loss of my younger brother to Cystic Fibrosis when he was just 14 deeply impacted my family and me. His passing, occurring two days before my 17th birthday, plunged us into profound grief. Seeking solace, I turned to therapy to navigate the overwhelming emotions. Through this process, I realized the profound impact of therapy in healing and decided to pursue a career in counseling to support others facing similar struggles.

Despite wearing multiple hats, the allure of therapy lies in its capacity to effect profound changes in individuals' lives. Being part of clients' journeys, witnessing their progress, and helping them achieve personal breakthroughs are aspects that I deeply cherish and refuse to let go of.

My approach to working with children in therapy revolves around creating a nurturing atmosphere where they feel comfortable and understood. I utilize diverse therapeutic approaches, such as play therapy, art therapy, and cognitive-behavioral interventions, to cater to each child's specific requirements and interests. Through building a strong therapeutic alliance and fostering a sense of trust, I empower children to explore their emotions, develop coping mechanisms, and tackle challenges in ways that are appropriate for their age and developmental stage. Collaboration with parents and caregivers is pivotal, ensuring that the child receives consistent support and that therapeutic gains are reinforced in their everyday lives.

Adults can expect a caring and impartial therapeutic atmosphere marked by attentive listening and mutual regard. I collaborate with my clients to explore their issues, set practical goals, and develop individualized paths to progress and healing. Using evidence-based methods like cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques, I provide clients with useful resources to handle life's challenges, cope with stress, and promote overall well-being. My main focus is helping adults as they discover more about themselves, build up their strength to handle tough times, and start making positive changes in their lives.

About Me.....

Outside of my therapy office, I’m all about living life to the fullest and embracing every moment. Whether it’s catching up with friends over a meal, enjoying quality time with my loved ones, or taking Lucky, my loyal companion, out for a stroll, I’m happiest when surrounded by those I care about. I also have a soft spot for retail therapy – there’s just something about a good shopping spree that lifts the spirits! And when it comes to staying active, you can often find me breaking a sweat on my Peloton or finding my zen in a Bikram Yoga class.

Now, onto my other passions. As a real estate professional, I’m dedicated to helping clients find their perfect homes or ideal investment properties. From negotiating deals to staying ahead of market trends, I’m always up for the challenge. And last but certainly not least, I’m a proud mom. It’s the role that brings me the greatest joy and fulfillment, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
